My All Music: Organizational Wonderland

Organizational Wonderland

On Facebook, one day, I announced via my status that I "had new labels, and was about to use them." One of my friends responded that it is a little sad that we get to a point in our lives where things like labels and bins equal excitement. And I suppose I am there as I sit drooling over my catalogs from The Container Store, just a few short steps away from joining the Red Hat Society. But, since I can't afford to buy out the container store in one foul swoop, I have, slowly and surely been transforming my pantry, a few bins and labels at a time.

I have a huge pantry. It was one of the things I refused to compromise on when we built our house. It is not a walk-in, that would be even cooler, but it is about 300 times bigger than the food storage space I had a available at our old house. No matter how many times our builder (a single man with no kids) tried to tell us to make it half as big, I refused. And I am very glad that I did not give in. So, I present, a work in progress, my pantry:

The Big Picture

The top, notice the labels I ordered from Mabels Lables. I am still working up here, because I seem to stock up too much and I need bigger bins, or more of them. A little bit at a time...

Snack section: Labels from the container store that you can write on with a sharpie and then erase and reuse. GENIUS!

The Cereal section. On of the things that bothers me is that all my bins don't match, since I can only by a few at a time. One day, these might be replaced by bins with blue lids to match the rest of the pantry. And yes, look at all the sugar cereal...

This part still needs some work. And look, waay up in the top corner is where my husband likes to hide his junk food so he can have it all to himself.

Just looking at these pictures makes me want to run to Target for more boxes....I can see all the places I still have work to do. I really want boxes for the bread (and not have to buy wonder bread for my picky husband). I want all the boxes to match. I need more boxes for the snacks and bigger bins for the flour and sugar and the bisquick needs a box...I am starting to hyperventlate now...

And now you know how really and truly sick I am..
